Job Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. The role involves a wide range of tasks including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The role requires building trust with customers, providing consultative support, and advocating proactive insights and recommendations.
The Banking Associate should understand the customer’s financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate customers on products, services, and make referrals to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. The associate should also accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform and provide services to the customer, both on the teller line and platform as needed.
Education and Experience Required
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills and experience include demonstrative customer service skills, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Teller experience and a Notary License are also preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is also expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They should manage wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling, rescheduling or canceling client meetings, and ensure tasks are performed within established policy and procedures.
As for shareholder accountabilities, the associate must ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.

The Banking Associate will be a critical member of the team, contributing to a positive work environment and collaborating with team members in contributing to the success of the team and organization. They are expected to be an active participant in personal performance and development activities and to actively seek opportunities to improve delivery of work with high attention to quality standards.
Physical Requirements
The role may occasionally require domestic travel. The associate will be performing sedentary work frequently and multiple tasks continuously. They will also need to respond quickly to sounds and may need to perform physical activities such as lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs. occasionally.
