Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is a professional role in banking with key responsibilities in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. The role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. Among the tasks to be performed are processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and delivering end-to-end advice customers expect, building trust through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and proactive insights and recommendations.
Skills and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED and at least 1-year experience working with customers in any capacity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability are among the essential qualifications. Previous teller experience and a notary license are preferred but not mandatory. The candidate should also have the ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to both new and existing customers. The role also involves establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times to meet with a Banker, and representing the first point of contact for customer inquiries. On the shareholder side, the Banking Associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in line with company guidelines and regulations like the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
The job involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking, along with occasional domestic travel. The Banking Associate may also need to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and respond quickly to sounds. The ability to lift or carry items under 25 lbs. is occasionally required. Concentration for long periods of time, reading, writing, and comprehending instructions are part of the everyday tasks.
