IMC Trading Firm Expands Globally with Impressive Growth in 2025
Amsterdam-based electronic trading firm IMC had a remarkable year in 2025, witnessing a 40% surge in revenues to reach $3.12 billion. The company’s success was accompanied by a significant influx of new talent, with over 450 new hires in 2025, bringing the total headcount to 1,900.
The expansion wasn’t limited to just one location; IMC highlighted the growth of its London and Hong Kong offices. Both teams saw an increase in employees compared to the previous year, with London having approximately 20 employees and Hong Kong around 5. In a strategic move, IMC officially announced the expansion of its Hong Kong office in October, actively recruiting researchers, traders, and engineers for the region.
Furthermore, IMC emphasized its commitment to enhancing its New York office in the upcoming years, recognizing it as a key area of focus. The company also made strides in India and Denmark, relocating to a larger office in India and establishing a new office in Denmark.
In line with its growth trajectory, IMC expanded its internship program, welcoming over 220 interns in 2025, up from 200 in the previous year. Noteworthy is the retention of 55 interns in the US, with reports indicating lucrative pay packages of up to $425,000 for full-time roles.
IMC’s investment in talent wasn’t limited to trading roles; the company also emphasized the expansion of its risk and compliance function to align with the growing headcount.
However, amidst the growth, IMC faced some challenges in retaining employees, with the headcount in the 2024 report showing a growth of only 300 from the previous year, implying a turnover of 150 individuals.
