Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. The professional in this role is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. The Banking Associate is also responsible for using TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers and deepen relationships.
Depth and Scope of the Role
The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location. This includes understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. The associate is also responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer financial needs and educating on products, services, and tools.
Education and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or GED. At least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred, which could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is also preferred. The candidate should have strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The Banking Associate role involves a mix of sedentary work and physical activities. This includes frequent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional lifting/carrying of items under 25 lbs. The associate is also required to respond quickly to sounds, operate standard office equipment, and concentrate for long periods of time. Domestic travel is occasionally required for this role.
