Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate will play a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at the store location. This role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. The associate is expected to perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
The associate should be able to deliver end-to-end advice to customers, which includes building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. The associate will also utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships, understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Qualifications and Skills
The minimum educational requirement for the position is a high school diploma or GED. The candidate should have at least 1 year of customer service experience, which can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills and abilities include excellent communication and problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A notary license is also preferred. The ability to work independently and within deadlines is crucial for this role.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate will consistently provide legendary customer service while promoting and educating TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate is expected to establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to customer needs and engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral. The associate will also manage wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling client meetings.
On the shareholder side, the associate will ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. The associate will accurately process cash, deposit, withdrawal transactions, and other account servicing requests.
