Role Description and Responsibilities

The Banking Associate is a key player in the banking sector, accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The associate engages in a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate also delivers end-to-end advice customers expect by building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.

Key Duties:

The banking associate uses TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract and retain the customer. The associate also understands customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires the associate to also accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer financial needs and educating on products, services, and tools or referring to the appropriate expert.

Education and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to schedule and prioritize work are also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must, and a notary license is preferred.

Customer, Shareholder, and Employee Accountabilities

The banking associate should ensure legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate should also establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.

From a shareholder perspective, the banking associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.

As a team player, the banking associate contributes to a positive work environment by aligning to TD Model, Brand, and Culture and participating fully as a member of the team.

Physical Requirements and Other Information

The role involves performing multiple tasks and operating standard office equipment continuously. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting or carrying of up to 25 lbs. Reading, writing, comprehending instructions, and basic arithmetic are essential skills for this role.
