The Role and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate plays an integral role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions, opening new accounts, and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The Banking Associate also utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships, providing consultative support and proactive insights and recommendations. The successful candidate will accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services.
Education and Experience Required
Interested candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity. Demonstrated customer service skills and teller experience are preferred. The candidate must be able to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire and hold strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and a Notary License is preferred.
Customer, Employee and Shareholder Accountabilities
Banking Associates at TD Bank are responsible for providing legendary customer service, establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times for client meetings, and understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy. They also ensure operational activities comply with company guidelines and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. On the employee side, associates contribute to a positive work environment, actively participate in personal performance and development activities, and work collaboratively with team members.
Physical Requirements
The job involves occasional domestic travel, frequent sedentary work, and continuous task performance, among other physical activities. It requires the ability to concentrate for long periods of time and apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
