Edward Jones Bank has recently been established as an FDIC-insured industrial bank headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. This new venture is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jones Financial Companies, L.L.L.P., and is poised to expand Edward Jones’ ability to serve clients’ banking needs through a focused, conservatively managed banking platform.
The Bank’s business model centers on supporting Edward Jones clients through insured deposit products and securities-based lending solutions. In order to ensure stability, the bank’s balance sheet and risk profile are designed to emphasize liquidity, capital strength, and operational resiliency.

What You Will Do:
The Controller of Edward Jones Bank serves as the executive leader of the Bank’s Finance & Accounting function. This leader ensures the accuracy of general ledger activity, timely and compliant financial reporting, and strong execution of internal accounting controls aligned with regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
The Controller mitigates operational, reporting, and compliance risk by maintaining clean books and records, overseeing account-level controls, supporting audit and SOX-like testing, and escalating any control breaks. Responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining accurate GAAP-based accounting records.
- Preparing regulatory filings such as Call Reports.
- Compiling monthly close packages with variance analysis.
- Providing documentation and workpapers to support internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examinations.
- Managing daily and monthly accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable workflows.
- Developing and maintaining the chart of accounts.
- Supporting process improvements and financial systems enhancements.
Position Requirements
Successful candidates for this role will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 11+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with general ledger maintenance, close processes, and accounting operations.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting concepts and audit processes.
- Understanding and application of US GAAP.
- Proficiency in ERP or accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
What Could Set You Apart:
Candidates who also have the following qualifications may stand out:
- A Master’s degree.
- CPA designation.
- 15+ years of relevant experience.

Edward Jones offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
