Role Description and Expectations
The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. The depth and scope of this role include a wide range of tasks including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The banking associate is also expected to build trust with educational content & tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights & recommendations.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates for this role must at minimum have a high school diploma or GED. While not required, one year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred and can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is also highly preferred. In addition, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must, and a Notary License is preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate is also expected to manage wait times to meet with a Banker and engage in lobby leadership. They must understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders. Additionally, the associate is expected to ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Employee/Team Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is also expected to contribute to a positive work environment, actively seek opportunities to improve the delivery of work, actively take ownership of their career and aspirations, and adhere and participate in TD’s Shared Commitments. They may also train and act as a mentor to newer colleagues.
Physical Requirements
This role might require occasional domestic travel, frequent sedentary work, continuous operation of standard office equipment, and frequent standing and walking. The associate may also occasionally perform lifting/carrying tasks (under 25 lbs. and over 25 lbs.).
