About the Banking Operations Management Trainee Program
East West Bank has designed a select rotational program known as the Banking Operations Management Trainee program. This program is tailored for talented individuals who have a passion for the banking industry and a strong entrepreneurial desire to learn about US and Greater China markets.
The program, which kicks off in July 2026, offers a unique blend of rotational assignments, on-the-job and classroom training, formalized feedback, and mentoring. The trainees will gain direct hands-on experience in lending products and loan operations. They will also gain exposure to various banking functions like deposit operations, trade operations, customer service, and more.
Upon successful completion of this year-long program, trainees will be matched to a role that aligns with their skills and competencies as well as business needs. Most trainees are likely to be placed in one of the Banking Operations departments in El Monte or Pasadena, California.
What Does The Program Entail?
As part of the program, trainees will participate in cross-functional rotation assignments across various sectors in Banking Operations. This will help them develop an understanding of the full suite of East West Bank products and service offers, and gain hands-on experience through assignments and customer interactions.
Trainees will also participate in ongoing internal development programs, external training, and self-study courses. This will enhance their technical, analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, which will be crucial on the job and for their professional growth.
Other duties may include identifying opportunities to improve processes, tackling complex projects, providing innovative business solutions and recommendations, and performing tasks relevant to designated business units to gain exposure to various job functions.
Who is Eligible?
The program is looking for Master’s Graduates with a concentration in Business Administration, Mathematics, MIS, or equivalent. Applicants with relevant job or internship experience will be preferred.
Participants should be motivated to learn about banking operations, operational excellence, and have a strong desire to learn about operations and products between the US and Greater China markets. Other requirements include strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Professional working proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

Compensation Details
The base pay range for this position is USD $31.00/hr. – USD $36.00/hr. The exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
