Purpose of the Role
The VP of Strategy and Cross Banking Compliance is expected to provide data-led expert oversight. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that Barclays operates in compliance with its legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities. This involves a detailed check and challenge on business and compliance matters.
Key Accountabilities
The key responsibilities of the VP of Strategy and Cross Banking Compliance include, but are not limited to:
- Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, systems, and testing.
- Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring that Barclays’ internal policies align with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
- Conducting investigations of compliance risk events or breaches and overseeing corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Collaborating with other relevant Compliance teams, 1LOD, legal, and risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Identification, investigation, and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes.
