Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate plays a crucial role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. They are responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals.
The depth and scope of the role include a wide range of tasks such as processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate is also responsible for building trust with customers, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.
Education & Experience Requirements
The qualifications for the Banking Associate role include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience which can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate must be able to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
Customer, Shareholder, and Employee Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while promoting, educating, and referring TD Bank products to new and existing customers. They play a significant role in establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times to meet with a banker, engaging in lobby leadership, and understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy.
On the shareholder side, the associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities and accurately processes cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.
