Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct: A Key Role
The position of Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct (NAVD) Head of Bank Sponsor is a significant role within Visa. The role is pivotal in the N.A. Visa Direct team, responsible for defining bank sponsor partnerships and enablement strategy to expand Visa Direct money movement through traditional and non-traditional channels. The primary focus is on Visa Direct, a payment service that Visa provides to facilitate Money Movement (funds transfers and disbursements) to Visa accounts in the U.S. and around the world using push payment technology.
The role will involve supporting strategic initiatives within Visa Direct, such as identifying, establishing, and expanding bank partner sponsorship for strategic use-cases and flows. This focus includes working with bank sponsors and financial institutions to close offering gaps, support strategic merchant deployments, and optimize process barriers. A significant focus will be on expanding bank sponsor enablement of domestic and cross-border use-cases and flows, such as push-to-card (P2C), push-to-wallet (P2W), and push-to-account (P2A).
Responsibilities of the Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct
The Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives for bank sponsor enablement within Visa Direct. They will manage key bank sponsor relationships, serving as the primary relationship manager for strategic financial institutions. The role will also involve partnering closely with Visa Sales and Account Management teams to identify, engage, and onboard new bank sponsors.
The Senior Director will be expected to develop tailored account plans for each sponsor, support commercialization and solutioning efforts, and evangelize Visa Direct offerings. They will also represent Visa Direct externally at industry events, panels, and client forums to promote thought leadership and strengthen the sponsor ecosystem.
Qualifications for the Role
The ideal candidate for the Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct role will have at least ten years of relevant work experience, including 5-10 years of leadership and team-building experience. They should have expert-level PowerPoint and advanced-level Excel skills, excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills, and a strong capacity for critical thinking and organization. The candidate should also have a strong curiosity about faster payments and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment with demanding timelines.
Additional qualifications include payment and banking experience, account management and partnership management experience, and product management experience with a focus on client solutions.
The Senior Director – N.A. Visa Direct position is critical to the N.A. Visa Direct organization and reports to the Vice President – N.A. Channel Partners. It is a hybrid position, with work hours varying upon the needs of the department. The position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
