Managing Complex Wealth Management
Northern Trust handles complex wealth management, banking credit, and treasury management client relationships. It identifies opportunities external to banking in the areas of investment and fiduciary. This role involves structuring and negotiating complex loan and/or lease agreements according to guidelines established by senior bank and business unit management.
The company also analyses and negotiates the terms of loans, such as special pricing conditions, interest rates, swaps etc., according to guidelines set by the Credit Policy Committee. It oversees and negotiates the preparation of documentation necessary for the financing agreement.
Goals Driven Wealth Management
Another significant role of Northern Trust is advising and consulting with clients as it relates to Goals Driven Wealth Management. This involves generating leads through well-established relationships with Centres of Influence (COI’s) and cultivating a network of additional COI’s.
As a subject area expert, Northern Trust provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to its team and partners at a high technical level. It carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult.
A Strategic Approach
The role of Northern Trust is balanced between high level operational execution and the development and execution of strategic direction of business function activities. It is strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas. Northern Trust is also responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management.
Experience and Knowledge
Having at least 5 years in financial analysis and client servicing experience, or commercial lending or leasing experience is required. Advanced knowledge of the banking industry, competition and financing, usually acquired through formal education and experience is necessary. Knowledge of investments, trust and financial consulting concepts is also essential to identify cross-selling opportunities.
