Description of Senior Regional Banking Relationship Manager Role
The role of a Senior Regional Banking Relationship Manager is multi-faceted and vital to the functioning of Huntington Bank. This position is responsible for acquiring new business relationships, as well as maintaining and enhancing existing ones. By providing insightful guidance to business owners, the Regional Banking Relationship Manager helps to drive growth and profitability for the bank. This role targets businesses with sales sizes ranging from $2 million to $50 million and credit exposures of up to $25 million.
The Senior Regional Banking Relationship Manager is also a senior level sales position within Regional Banking. There’s a significant focus on businesses with more than $25 million in sales. This role also serves as a back-up to the Market Manager, offering credit guidance and mentoring junior colleagues.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Regional Banking Relationship Manager, there are several key responsibilities:
- Acquiring new, profitable business relationships through aggressive prospecting and networking. This is achieved by providing insights and advice and by building a strong network of local market COI relationships, both external and internal.
- Analysing, structuring, and closing profitable loan transactions of the most complex nature in Regional Banking.
- Maintaining and confirming the creditworthiness of customers. This involves gathering, reviewing, and tracking appropriate documentation from applicants.
- Managing and maintaining strong relationships with existing business customers. This includes providing insightful advice and actively engaging with internal partnerships to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
- Managing portfolios of varying sizes and complexity. This includes conducting quarterly portfolio reviews and collecting necessary documentation.
- Working with the Huntington Loan Center and Commercial Loan Servicing department to ensure the accuracy and completeness of credit packages and delivery.
- Representing the bank within the community through participation in business and community functions.
- Working well within a team environment and collaborating closely with internal partners to deliver customer solutions.
- Partnering with junior Regional Banking colleagues on more complex credits.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this role include:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and Business Banking/Commercial lending experience
- At least 10 years of Business Banking/Commercial Banking experience
Preferred qualifications for the role include:
- Being well-versed in complex commercial credits with 10+ years Business Banking or Commercial sales experience
