The Engineering Services Team
The Engineering Services team at Capital One plays a pivotal role in making the “right way” the “easy way” for engineers by simplifying how they build and operate software. The Role of a Senior Manager, Technical Program Management
The Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM) will be responsible for partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders across the Bank and Enterprise to drive the delivery of the Engineering Services roadmap. The chosen candidate will also facilitate the adoption of modern tooling and best practices across engineering teams. In some cases, they may also invent and execute on ideas for new custom software to improve the developer experience.
In addition to managing the technical program, the Senior Manager would also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team. They would leverage their industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
Desired Qualities in a TPM Senior Manager
Successful candidates for the role of TPM Senior Manager at Capital One have a strong technical background, preferably involving the construction of highly scalable platforms, products, or services. They are effective communicators and collaborators, with excellent problem-solving and influencing skills. Qualifications for the Role
Basic qualifications for the role include a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience managing technical programs. Preferred qualifications include experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing, experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using AWS cloud computing services and architecture, and experience delivering large and complex programs. Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) are also advantageous.
