The Role of a Senior Banking Advisor at Northern Trust
At Northern Trust, the Senior Banking Advisor plays a pivotal role in developing and managing complex wealth management client relationships across banking, credit, and treasury management. This senior advisor is responsible for new business development, structuring and negotiating complex financing solutions, and advising clients through a goals-driven wealth management approach. This role is not only operationally critical but also instrumental in the development and execution of strategic business initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Banking Advisor serves as a subject matter expert to partners and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new client relationships and manage complex wealth management banking, credit, and treasury management client relationships.
- Structure and negotiate complex loan and/or lease agreements.
- Advise and consult with clients on Goals-Driven Wealth Management.
- Generate leads through well-established relationships and cultivate a network of additional centers of influence (COIs).
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership.
- Engage directly with committees and senior management as required.
- Develop, implement, and administer strategic programs within assigned functional areas.

- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise within the job discipline or functional area.
Experience & Education
- At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis and client servicing, commercial lending, or leasing.
- Experience leading functional teams or projects.
