About the Role of Banking Relationship Specialist at ConnectOne Bank
Banking Relationship Specialists are the embodiment of ConnectOne’s “Client First” banking experience. Their role is pivotal in acquiring, retaining, and expanding both business and consumer banking relationships, all while upholding the values and culture of ConnectOne Bank.
Key Responsibilities
As a Banking Relationship Specialist, you will:
- Support the Bank’s “People First” focus by maintaining a professional demeanor, greeting clients by name, and striving to make ConnectOne Bank “A Better Place to Be”.
- Identify opportunities for relationship development by cross-selling the Bank’s products and services in a consultative manner.
- Perform account opening for deposit products and educate clients about the Bank’s product and service offerings.
- Ensure all activities and transactions comply with the Bank’s operational, security, and control procedures to prevent fraud and protect customer assets.
- Handle customer service issues by conducting research, taking ownership, and following up until resolution.
- Assist other branch team members with transactions and operations, providing feedback and coaching to enhance team performance.
- Perform service transactions for the Branch such as check re-orders, address/name changes, safe deposit box access, outbound wires, account maintenance, and outbound client contact.
- Serve as the primary back-up to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager for operational and service-related functions.
- Perform banking transactions over the phone or at the drive-up window.
- Participate actively in achieving branch sales objectives.
- Maintain a 90% plus service performance and incorporate feedback from mystery shops.
- Support retail and community events to promote the brand in accordance with the retail business plan.
Key Qualifications
Must have:
- Strong needs-based sales skills.
- One to three years of bank platform sales and teller experience.
- Detailed understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements.
- Strong “People First” interest and ability.
- Strong ability in assessing and meeting the needs of customer and/or solving customer problems.
- Effective teambuilding and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to lift items up to 25 lbs.
