The Team
The Credit Solutions (CS) Sales team at S&P Global is focused on serving the largest and most strategic Financial Institutions across the Americas. The team is renowned for its solutions, including RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, Credit Analytics, Scorecards, and Analytical Services. These are all core elements of their clients’ credit risk and investment workflows. The Sales Specialist will be part of this high-performing, collaborative team, backed by subject matter experts in Pre-Sales Engineering.
Job Overview and Purpose
This Sales Specialist role is a unique opportunity for a proven sales professional with a deep understanding of financial markets and a track record of sourcing and closing new business. The role involves expanding the firm’s US Community Banks footprint with executive-level stakeholders. The mandate is to drive revenue growth by meeting with customers across the US region, understanding their credit modeling and reporting challenges, and positioning S&P Global’s Credit Solutions as essential.
Responsibilities and Impact
The responsibilities of the Sales Specialist include exceeding revenue targets by identifying, developing, and closing new business and expansion opportunities within Financial Institutions. The role requires the ability to navigate and manage complex sales cycles across multiple stakeholders and decision-makers, including C-suite and senior credit executives. A deep understanding of financial markets and credit workflows is needed to conduct high-impact, diagnostic client conversations. The Sales Specialist will partner across the organization to deliver coordinated, high-touch client experiences and maintain impeccable pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and strategic account planning within CRM.
Compensation/Benefits Information
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,773 to $109,772. The final base salary will be determined based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. Besides base compensation, the role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. There are also additional S&P Global benefits available for employees.
Basic Required Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this role include 3-6 years of enterprise sales experience with a strong record of outperforming sales quotas. A deep understanding of financial markets, credit risk workflows, and the decision-making landscape within commercial banks is essential. Proven ability to establish, nurture, and expand relationships at the senior executive level is crucial, along with a consultative, client-first approach rooted in problem-solving.
