Key Responsibilities and Tasks
The crux of a Relationship Banking Associate’s role revolves around the efficient and timely processing of routine transactions and other related services. They are expected to carry out these tasks accurately, following the banking institution’s policies and procedures. They are also responsible for identifying and referring sales opportunities to the appropriate business partner or line of business, thereby fulfilling the customer’s needs. This interaction can be in person or over the phone, depending on the situation.
An important part of their job is to provide support for basic consumer deposit account opening as required. The tasks performed are assigned percentages, with 65% dedicated to processing routine transactions, general customer and account servicing duties, and administrative responsibilities. 25% is allotted to identifying customer opportunities through interactive and consultative conversations, while 5% of their role involves participating in community events in line with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). The remaining 5% encompasses other duties as assigned and required.
Education and Experience Requirements
The qualifications for this role include a High School Diploma or its equivalent and at least one year of experience in related banking positions or equivalent sales/customer service experience.

Key skills for success in this role include excellent listening and communication skills, the ability to work well with a team, and proficiency in computer skills. In addition, the ability to approach, identify, and converse with customers, identifying their needs and opportunities, is crucial. Physical Requirements
Physically, the role requires the ability to communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers. It also involves being stationary 50% of the time, moving about within or between locations, bending, twisting, crouching, squatting, and moving objects up to a maximum of 20 lbs.
