The Role of a Relationship Advisor I
The RA’s role is to assist in-market RAs by performing a designated list of onboarding and maintenance tasks on behalf of their Venture Capital and Private Equity clients. These tasks involve direct client interface for end-to-end processing. Some tasks, previously handled by the in-market RA, have been moved to create bandwidth and allow the in-market RA to focus on more complex activities and strategic clients. Thus, the RA I role is critical to providing the high touch service that clients expect from SVB.
Key Responsibilities
The RA’s responsibilities include:
- Client Onboarding – Partners with RA 2/3/Sr to support the client’s onboarding journey. This may include collecting documentation and performing data entry to the onboarding/ticketing platform.
- Client Servicing – Takes ownership of servicing activities with guidance from RA 2/3/Sr. This includes opening and closing accounts, updating client records, and performing designated maintenance tasks.
- Risk Advice – Supports RA 2/3/Sr in BSA/AML processes, following all procedures related to risk mitigation.
- Client Success – Engages Manager and/or RA partners to address client needs.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate for the RA I role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of professional experience in banking, finance, or customer service. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in the same fields are also considered.
