General Function

Our Affiliate Wholesale Line of Business (LOB) plays a vital role in driving the bank’s growth and customer satisfaction. It operates under the direct responsibility of the Affiliate President and is primarily tasked with executing strategies, managing operations, and providing leadership to achieve growth revenue, P&L objectives, operational & regulatory goals. We are also committed to improving the client experience and employee engagement.

This LOB is responsible for executing the Wholesale Strategy, which includes annual business planning, portfolio segmentation, and business development & client relationship strategies. This strategy is designed to ensure that our team members meet and strive to exceed our established sales goals, follow the bank’s policies and procedures, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Affiliate Wholesale LOB has a multitude of essential duties and responsibilities, including performance and talent management, business development, client experience, and credit excellence. We believe in investing in our people, so we provide them with ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to elevate their performance and results. We also use an Onboarding Resource to help new team members seamlessly integrate into our team.

For business development, we lead regional/portfolio business planning to grow client relationships and acquire new prospective relationships. This is done by utilizing referral sources, existing clients, and centers of influence, ensuring that customer relationships are managed to maximize revenue contribution.

At Fifth Third Bank, we prioritize the client experience. We ensure the utilization of our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system for client activity, follow through on One Bank meetings, and provide prompt post-call follow up.

Our pursuit of credit excellence involves developing strong partnerships with Credit and on credit requests to ensure adherence to established Portfolio Management guidelines and policy. We also ensure that our team achieves credit standards and metrics in regard to asset quality, credit administration, and RAROC.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

As a team member at Fifth Third Bank, you will need a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related business field. An MBA is preferred. We also require 12+ years of commercial lending experience and excellent relationship building/interpersonal skills. You must possess a strong track record of coaching and developing talent and be PC proficient in Windows-based software programs.

Working Conditions

At Fifth Third Bank, we provide a normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes. Extended viewing of a CRT screen is expected, and there may be extended travel within the region, including some overnight stays.
