Role and Responsibilities of a Private Client Banker

Private Client Bankers are integral to the realization of Chase’s Customer Promise. They play a pivotal role in helping clients maximize their financial resources, thereby enhancing their lives. The role involves providing tailored advice and education to suit the specific financial needs of the clients.

Job Responsibilities

As a Private Client Banker, you will be the go-to person for a select group of Chase’s affluent clients and other Branch customers. The role demands a proactive and disciplined approach to managing the complete banking relationship across the company. The ultimate goal is to grow the clients’ balances.

Moreover, you are expected to actively solicit referrals and develop internal and external sources to acquire new clients. Besides, you will be responsible for sharing the value of Chase Private Client with potential eligible clients and managing their banking relationship through an advice-based approach.

Part of your role will also involve partnering with Specialists such as Private Client Advisors, Mortgage Bankers, and Business Relationship Managers. This collaboration will help connect customers to experts who can assist them with their specialized financial needs.

Furthermore, you will make clients’ lives more convenient by sharing and setting up self-service options to access their accounts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a Private Client Banker, adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory banking requirements is a must.

Required and Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Successful candidates should have a proven track record in using a value-added, relationship-oriented approach to acquiring and deepening client relationships. At least one year of experience in branch banking or a similar financial services role is preferred, with verifiable success in new client acquisition, cultivation and maintenance of customer relationships, and revenue generation.

Additionally, candidates must comply with the Dodd Frank/Truth in Lending Act and show a commitment to policies, procedures, and regulatory banking requirements. A high school degree, GED, or foreign equivalent is a minimum requirement, and the ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings, is necessary.

Preferred qualifications include excellent communication skills, a college degree or military equivalent, and experience cultivating relationships with affluent clients. A strong team orientation with a commitment to a long-term career with the firm is highly desirable.

This position is subject to the Dodd Frank/Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators. Any felony conviction within the last seven years will disqualify you from consideration for this position.
