The Opportunity at USAA
As a Bank Portfolio Manager Senior at USAA, you will play a critical role in supporting the Bank portfolio and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, controls, and regulations.
One of the core responsibilities is Bank Portfolio Analytics, where you will perform advanced data analysis to identify key trends and insights within the portfolio. Alongside this, you will develop and deliver tailored presentations to the Bank leadership team, providing clear and concise reports on the portfolio’s health and performance. This role will have a significant impact on influencing data-driven decision-making, and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and protection of data presented to both Bank Leadership and the Bank Board.
Moreover, the role will require you to support technology investment planning and coordinate with Project/Program Managers on budget inputs and updates. The position offers a flexible work environment that requires you to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA, Charlotte, NC or Tampa, FL.

Key Responsibilities
As a Bank Portfolio Manager Senior, your duties will include:
- Accountability for low to moderately complex company or line of business portfolios.
- Completion of governance routines per the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) Policy, Standards, and Procedures.
- Resolution of systemic cross-work risks / issues and interdependency conflicts for work effort(s) / program deliverables.
- Identification and management of Financial Management risks and recommendations of solutions to address opportunities.
- Development and execution of company planning in partnership with Enterprise Integrated Planning (EIP) and their respective PMO.
- Communication of portfolio statuses and changes regularly with executive sponsors, program sponsors, business owners, and additional stakeholders as required.
- Review of the health and performance of the portfolio regularly, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and providing updates to leader and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
The suitable candidate for this role should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of related experience.
- 6 years of progressive project, program, or portfolio management experience to include process improvement and/or consulting for large strategic efforts.
- A proficient understanding of project, program, and portfolio management principles.
- Experience with portfolio management and execution experience delivering complex work efforts working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- At least one of the following: Certified Project Manager (CPM), Lean Portfolio Management Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), or gains one within 6 months of placement.
What Sets You Apart
Exceptional candidates will also demonstrate:
- The ability to effectively communicate with and present to executive leadership.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, extraction, and reporting.
- A minimum of 2 years of practical experience utilizing data analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Power Apps. Experience with Snowflake, SAS, and Adobe Analytics is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating and delivering clear, concise, and data-driven presentations.
Compensation and Benefits
USAA is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. The salary range for this position is: $114,080 – $218,030. Actual salary may vary by location.
