Join as a Retail Personal Banker I
At Fifth Third Bank, selected candidates will have the opportunity to become a Retail Personal Banker I after undertaking a comprehensive 4-8 week on-boarding and education program. This immersive program includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion of the training, candidates will undertake a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully perform a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family.
Responsibilities of a Retail Personal Banker I
The Retail Personal Banker I is a key position within the Financial Center, focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role includes a variety of activities, including lobby leadership (Financial Centers), aisle time (Bank Marts), and tele-consulting. It involves processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The role of a Retail Personal Banker I at Fifth Third Bank is multifaceted and includes a wide range of duties and responsibilities. These include using the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs, maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services, recommending appropriate solutions using our value proposition, and proactively reaching out to customers to set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
Furthermore, the role involves establishing close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment), referring customers when appropriate to provide timely, and holistic financial solutions. A Retail Personal Banker I consistently meets and exceeds customer experience and individual/team production goals, and enhances year-over-year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
Requirements for the Position
The position of a Retail Personal Banker I requires a college degree or work experience providing transferrable skills, with experience in the financial industry preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer household and small business customers and/or cross-sell to established customers is required. It is also necessary to have the ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in terms of appearance and verbal/written communication.
Working Conditions
The role involves normal office conditions. It requires extended viewing of computer screens and the ability to travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility. Travel outside of the affiliate will also be required for various classroom training sessions.
