Work Location and Hours
The position of a Customer Service Representative at BTC Bank is primarily based at our Trenton, MO location. The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, which includes a rotating Saturday shift, ensuring our customers have access to our services even on weekends.
Job Purpose and Duties
Customer service representatives are the bank’s frontline staff, responding to customer inquiries via telephone and face-to-face meetings. Their roles and responsibilities are diverse and customer-focused, including:
- Working at the primary location, as well as assisting in other locations as needed.
- Helping customers with routine account-related requests such as funds transfers, automatic funds transfers (AFTs), stop payments, inquiries about bank deposit products and service charges, inquiries about ATM and debit card usage and limits, inquiries about checking and savings accounts transactions, inquiries about funds availability, and check verification requests by third parties.
- Researching and resolving customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary.
- Cross-selling bank products and services based on customer needs in accordance with the banks’ program standards.
- Relaying customer requests for service charge rebates to the assistant vice president and vice president of operations.
- Performing customer requested research, including printing statement and check copies.
- Opening, setting timers, and closing the safe deposit vault utilizing dual control.
- Conducting call-backs to external check printing companies to verify customer information.
- Traveling to other branches as required.
Qualifications and Working Conditions
The ideal candidate for the position of Customer Service Representative at BTC Bank should hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous cash handling experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and a proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is a must.
The job operates in a clerical office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets, and may require bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
