Manager, Project Management – Small Business Bank Governance & OKRs

Role and Responsibilities
The Manager of Project Management in the Small Business Bank (SBB) plays a critical role in executing the SBB’s governance and goal-setting routines. Key responsibilities include keeping the SBB Leadership informed through well-managed business reviews and ensuring that the SBB’s Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are accurately tracked and maintained. The role requires interfacing with senior leaders and teams across various functional areas within and outside of the SBB.
Some general responsibilities include:
- Top of House Governance: This involves leading monthly and quarterly business routines, collecting data, status updates, and talking points from across the organization for MBRs, QBRs, and Regulatory Updates. It also includes preparing and finalizing reporting decks for the SBB leadership team, ensuring high quality and consistency across all submissions.
- Annual OKR Development: The manager supports the annual OKR development process in collaboration with the SBB Leadership team and ensures alignment with broader enterprise best practices in partnership with the Retail Bank PMO.
- OKR Management & Coaching: The manager oversees the monthly OKR collection process and provides guidance to OKR Owners and Responsible Associates on navigating off-cycle changes.
- SBB Initiative Intake & Prioritization Support: As a core member of the SBB Intake Working Group, the manager helps evaluate and prioritize new business initiatives. They also review incoming intake forms for completeness and prepare intake data for leadership review sessions.
- PMO Playbook Maintenance: The manager maintains and oversees SBB PMO playbook of templates used for all top of house level programs and keeps the PMO team confluence page up to date.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- Exceptional collaborative skills to influence key business outcomes
- Keen attention to detail, exceptional organization, and a rigorous commitment to quality in all aspects of work
- Proactive approach in identifying risks and issues and the ability to apply sound judgment to mitigate or escalate them
- Strong drive for results
Basic qualifications for the role include at least 4 years of experience in Project Management, Business Operations, or Chief of Staff support roles and at least 1 year of experience managing OKRs or similar performance-tracking methodologies.
Preferred qualifications include strong communication and problem-solving skills, experience with Intake and Prioritization frameworks, experience working in an ambiguous environment, and certification in Project Management or specialized training in OKR coaching.
Work Environment and Compensation
This role is hybrid, with expectations to work 3 days per week in-office (McLean, VA or Richmond, VA) and the remainder of the week virtually. The annual salaries for this role range from $138,100 – $173,400, depending on location. The role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
