The Role of a Product Manager

Capital One Small Business Bank is seeking a Product Manager to join the Servicing and Payments Product team. The Product Manager will reimagine the servicing and payment experiences for small business associates. This role will involve defining, building, and accelerating experiences for the front line and back office associates, enabling efficient service delivery to small business customers. The role balances coaching, visionary, and problem-solving responsibilities, leading a high-impact team and co-creating a futuristic vision for the product.

The Product Manager is expected to demonstrate proficiency in several key areas:

Human-Centered Approach

Emphasizing customer insights and user experience, the Product Manager will define clear and actionable problem statements, leverage customer insights to influence feature development, and strive to create world-class, omni-channel experiences.

Business Focus

The Product Manager will prioritize the product roadmap based on business outcomes, make balanced judgment calls on risks, and innovate on ways to iterate faster for the immediate team.

Technology-Driven Mindset

Understanding the technology and architectural vision, the Product Manager will partner with the tech team to make comprehensive design decisions and proactively identify opportunities to improve key metrics such as security, resilience, and performance.

Integrated Problem Solving

By developing frameworks for complex decision making, the Product Manager will drive meaningful outcomes and accelerate the decision-making process.

Transformational Leadership

As a leader, the Product Manager will communicate a 6-month vision to stakeholders, build relationships beyond the immediate team, contribute to team culture and recruiting, and mentor junior product associates.

Qualifications

At least three years of experience in Product Management is required, along with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. Preferred candidates will have experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products.
