About the Team
The Customer Trust & Safety team is responsible for implementing rules and policies that enable customers to effectively manage and utilize their funds. This involves making decisions about fund availability after deposits, preventing fraudulent takeovers of customer accounts, and setting limits on the amount of money that customers can transfer in and out of the bank. The team achieves this by developing an intelligent, data-driven system that governs the policies, models, and data integrations behind every decision.
The team also works to build empathy and trust with customers and associates when a decision requires human intervention. Comprising strategists, builders, and customer advocates, the team thrives on tackling complex problems at the intersection of technology, data, and human experience.
About the Role
The role of the Product Manager, focused on Spend and Account Takeover (ATO), is crucial for customer safety. The main responsibilities include managing Account Takeover Detection, Alerting, and Decisioning. The mission of the team is to make transactions seamless for legitimate customers while protecting the bank and our customers from fraud, scams, and risk. This role will be responsible for managing the associate and customer experience after a decision flags them for risk.

This role will involve defining and building our next-generation of machine-learning models and policies to identify and protect our customers from emerging threats, while also partnering with teams across the organization to guide customers and associates through the decisions those models and policies make. As a highly collaborative role, you will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, operations, and business partners across Capital One’s Retail Bank and Enterprise teams to continue to evolve our decisioning platform and strategy.
