Role of a Manager in Data Analysis
As a Manager in Data Analysis at Capital One, there are several responsibilities you would undertake. Some of these include leveraging your analytical skills to drive current and future strategy, assisting with building and using models to test and validate data, and working with vast amounts of data in new and evolving environments. You would also play a vital role in growing and developing the brand in new and emerging markets.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
On any given day, you would mine data to arrive at specific and crucial information for the organization, identify and implement process, data, and reporting improvements, work with large and complex databases, improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness, and consult on the design and implementation of new production and data storage systems.
Who is an Ideal Candidate?
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who is at the leading edge of Analytical technology and has a passion for the newest and most innovative tools. Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities, along with good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, are key to performing well in this role. This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams is the norm. Qualifications
Basic qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field or a Master’s Degree, with at least 4 years of professional data analysis work and programming experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics discipline, at least 7 years of professional data analysis work experience, and proficiency in Python, R, Spark, SQL, and AWS services.
