Role and Responsibilities
As a Manager, Data Analysis- Retail Bank, you will be at the forefront of shaping both the current and future strategy of Capital One’s retail banking. You will utilize your analytical skills across a variety of tasks, such as building and testing models, working with enormous data sets in new and evolving environments, and promoting the brand in emerging markets.
Your influence will extend to creating a customer experience that surpasses our competitors, leading and mentoring a team of talented junior analysts, and engaging with full life cycle projects. This role will also require collaboration across various business units in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where analytics and good data are prioritized.
Day-to-Day Operations
On a typical day, you might find yourself mining data for crucial organizational information, identifying and implementing process improvements, or working with large and complex databases. Your role may also involve improving operational efficiencies, conducting process evaluations and tests, and extracting and analyzing data to gauge product offerings. Additionally, you may consult on the design and implementation of new production and data storage systems, and develop strategic tests of products, initiatives, and marketing materials.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will be on the cutting edge of analytical technology with a passion for the newest and most innovative tools. Strong problem-solving skills, conceptual thinking abilities, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. A background in Business Intelligence is highly desirable.
As for qualifications, candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field plus at least 6 years of experience performing data analytics, or a Master’s Degree plus at least 4 years of experience. At least 4 years of experience performing professional data analysis work and programming are also required.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics discipline, at least 7 years of professional data analysis work experience, and at least 4 years of experience with Python, R, Spark, or SQL. Experience in people management, project management, Tableau, and AWS service are also advantageous.
