Manager – Banking Operations Role: Ensuring Excellence in Operational Execution
In the role of Manager – Banking Operations, the individual is held accountable for the execution, regulatory adherence, and control environment of core Banking Operations functions. The role involves overseeing deposit operations, debit card operations, and tax and regulatory processes that support Wealth Management deposit products. With a firm focus on strong risk management and compliance, the manager plays a crucial role in mitigating risk, ensuring accuracy, and supporting audits and regulatory reviews.

Key Responsibilities of the Manager – Banking Operations
Banking Operations Oversight
The Manager – Banking Operations is responsible for leading daily operations across various functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to service levels. The role involves overseeing the end-to-end execution of banking activities, driving operational effectiveness, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and driving process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
People Leadership
As a leader within Banking Operations, the manager is tasked with leading, coaching, and developing a team. This includes managing performance, capacity, and workload planning, while fostering a strong risk and control culture.
Wealth Management Deposit Operations
The role also involves overseeing deposit account maintenance aligned to Wealth Management products, ensuring execution of deposit activities, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
Debit Card Operations
Another key responsibility is overseeing debit card operations, ensuring effective controls over card activity, including fraud monitoring, dispute management, and Regulation E compliance.
Tax and Regulatory Operations
As a subject matter expert in tax withholding, the manager ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, oversees tax reporting and withholding for U.S. and non-U.S. accounts, and acts as control owner.
Reconciliation, Controls & Issue Resolution
The Manager – Banking Operations oversees general ledger and operational reconciliations, monitors exceptions and discrepancies, and ensures adherence to audit standards and record retention policies.
Audit, Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement
As the primary interface for internal audit, regulatory exams, and risk assessments, the Manager – Banking Operations leads coordination and remediation of findings and acts as liaison across stakeholders.
Required Experience for the Role
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, and have at least 7+ years of experience in banking operations or financial services. Knowledge of W-8/W-9 documentation, withholding, and tax filings related to Banking Deposit Accounts is a must. Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage risk, controls, and operational processes are required. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are also crucial for this role.
The successful candidate can expect a salary range of $117,230 – 205,200 USD.
