Amalgamated Bank Seeks Licensed Retail Banking Representative
Amalgamated Bank, a leading financial institution, is on the lookout for a Licensed Retail Banking Representative. This role is vital for delivering top-notch customer service in a variety of activities, such as life insurance products and general banking needs, both within the branch and at off-site events. The Licensed Retail Banking Representative will be instrumental in identifying potential customers for an in-depth financial review with a dedicated Financial Advisor.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Licensed Retail Banking Representative, the candidate is expected to perform various tasks, some of which include working in both the Teller and Customer Service areas, depending on business needs. The candidate will also play a crucial role in supporting branch management in achieving branch performance metrics and participating in branch campaigns and promotions.
Customer Service Duties
The Licensed Retail Banking Representative will be responsible for opening and maintaining various types of accounts in accordance with Bank policy and procedures. Proactively presenting and selling Bank products to potential and existing customers is another critical aspect of this role. This requires the candidate to actively promote the Bank and its products, participate in off-site sales calls, branch networking, community and CRA activities, and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
Responsibilities behind the Teller Line
This role also involves various teller duties, such as issuing official checks, processing deposits/withdrawals, assisting in balancing daily transactions, researching and investigating customer claims, and performing other RBR functions as assigned.
General Responsibilities
As a Licensed Retail Banking Representative, the candidate will assist officers in performing various branch functions and reports. Providing priority services to customers in need of special handling, performing related clerical duties, and maintaining knowledge and compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements are crucial responsibilities of this role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and must hold a State Life Insurance license. With at least three years of branch operations experience and a strong aptitude for sales, the candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should have a detailed knowledge of banking procedures, regulations, and all Branch related functions and terminal systems.
