Job Opportunity: Intermediate Bank Teller
USAA is currently seeking a dedicated Intermediate Bank Teller to join their team in San Antonio, operating five days a week. As an Intermediate Teller, you will be responsible for providing superior and prompt customer service by conducting various banking transactions through the lobby and/or drive-thru in accordance with defined guidelines and process.
You will also be expected to handle customer inquiries on product features and services and have a good understanding of the policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines associated with USAA’s banking products. Since this job profile is designated as a Sensitive Position, employees are required to fulfill a Mandatory Time-Away (MTA) requirement of 10 consecutive business days each calendar year.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Bank Teller, you will work under general supervision and will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while performing a variety of basic banking services. You will also be tasked with resolving member issues and complaints professionally and collaborating with team members to resolve issues.
Following operational processes, procedures, and requirements, you will carry out moderately complex work assignments like estate accounts and special endorsements. You will be expected to maintain a low error ratio, adhere to teller cash drawer limits, and remain within the cash outage allowance.
Moreover, you will be responsible for identifying new and emerging fraud transactions and providing accurate, timely communication to management to mitigate loss. Recognizing and referring potential product needs and self-service opportunities, as well as adhering to all policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures applicable to Teller Operations is also part of your job role.
Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this position, you need to have a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience as a teller, in financial services, or retail sales environment is also required. In addition, you should possess general math and calculator skills with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and have a basic knowledge of applicable banking regulations, guidelines, and procedures.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills set you apart in this role, along with your experience and expertise in the banking sector.
Compensation and Benefits
USAA offers a competitive compensation package. The salary for this role ranges between $43,680.00- $63,680.00, varying by location. Employees may also be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance.
