The Role in Focus
We’re seeking a strategic product leader to helm Bottomline’s SMB Digital Banking franchise. This senior-level individual contributor will be instrumental in shaping the vision, strategy, and partnership opportunities for the SMB segment. The right candidate will have a deep understanding of the SMB sector and how banks serve and monetize SMBs. This role requires an ability to translate market insights into strategic business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Vision, Strategy & Business Plan
The successful candidate will define and champion the vision and multi-year strategy for SMB Digital Banking. This will be grounded in a clear business plan and economic model for Bottomline. The individual will articulate the unique opportunities in the SMB segment and set the direction for Bottomline’s leadership in this space.
Customer & Bank Requirements, Experience
The role requires a deep understanding of SMB customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. It also calls for familiarity with the operational and economic realities banks face in serving this segment. The individual will lead the identification and prioritization of requirements, ensuring our solutions cater to the specifics of SMB banking and drive measurable customer and partner outcomes.
Go-to-Market (GTM) & Commercialization
The candidate will own the GTM strategy for the SMB portfolio, which includes pricing, packaging, positioning, and enablement. They will partner with Sales and Marketing to develop and execute repeatable strategies for banks of all sizes.
Business Performance & Reporting
The role involves establishing and tracking KPIs and metrics that reflect business health, customer adoption, satisfaction, and retention. It also includes providing transparent reporting and insights to inform ongoing investment and prioritization.
Key Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 7-10+ years in product management for digital banking/fintech or B2B SaaS, with proven outcomes in the SMB segment. This includes demonstrated leadership in translating market insights into strategy, business plans, and product outcomes. The individual should have expertise in how banks monetize and go to market in the SMB sector, with a pragmatic approach to execution. They should also have excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Background
A familiarity with Bottomline’s Banking portfolio or comparable platforms is a plus. The individual should possess an executive presence with the ability to evangelize product strategy internally and externally.
