The Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs is pivotal in addressing the most complex financial challenges and transactions in today’s market. The team advises on mergers, provides financial solutions for acquisitions, and structures initial public offerings. They work with a variety of clients including corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments. The team is composed of analytical thinkers who have a passion for generating creative ideas.
The division is involved in various industrial sectors such as aerospace and defense, automotive, building and construction, business services, capital goods, diversified industrials, transportation and infrastructure, and paper, forest products, and packaging.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will play a vital role in developing and strengthening client relationships. You will be part of advisory teams and will be involved in structuring and executing a wide range of financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, managing transaction processes, and assisting in structuring transactions.
You will gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expand your knowledge of the investment banking industry. This role will help you develop key analytical, communication, and marketing skills. You will be involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, fixed income, and equity issuances. You will also be responsible for coordinating teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions. You will lead due diligence processes and actively participate in the negotiations of legal documentation.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of investment banking or equivalent experience. They should have a history of outstanding academic and professional achievement. A strong team orientation is necessary, as well as the demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions. Previous experience in the Industrials sector is preferred.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
