Responsibilities of a Credit Risk Director
The Credit Risk Director will be responsible for a myriad of tasks that are essential in ensuring the steady growth and compliance of JPMorgan Chase. This includes leading a team of credit risk professionals in preparing and reviewing credit packages, taking ownership of the approval process for new loans, and ensuring compliance with firm-wide risk management policies and guidelines.
Other key responsibilities include assisting in the development of policies specific to Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) lending and managing the delegation and distribution of projects throughout the team. The role also demands a keen understanding of third-party reports, construction loan documents, and loan negotiation.
Qualifications and Skills
This challenging position requires over 10 years of experience in community development real estate, with a particular focus on affordable housing finance. The ideal candidate should also have a comprehensive understanding of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and subsidy financing.
Excellent teamwork and customer service skills are critical, along with strong leadership and analytical skills. Attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and project management skills are also essential. A master’s or bachelor’s degree with a focus on real estate finance or public policy is preferred.
