Business Banking Internship at Associated Bank
As a Business Banking Intern at Associated Bank, you’ll gain practical experience supporting the growth and management of business banking client relationships. You’ll get the chance to work alongside seasoned Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Underwriters. This hands-on experience will help you understand how businesses manage their financial needs, analyze data, and identify banking solutions that encourage their growth.
Key Responsibilities
During the internship, you’ll be involved in a range of tasks. These will include helping Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers with daily portfolio management activities and reviewing and analyzing financial statements to assess creditworthiness and lending opportunities. You’ll also get the chance to collaborate with internal partners to identify cross-selling products such as deposits, treasury management, and other financial services.
Moreover, you’ll participate in client meetings and relationship reviews, gaining exposure to business banking strategies and customer engagement. You’ll also contribute to preparing credit presentations, reports, and relationship summaries. Additionally, you’ll research local markets and industries to support business development and client retention efforts, ensuring client files, portfolio data, and risk documentation are accurate and compliant with policy standards.
Education and Experience
Applicants for the Business Banking Internship at Associated Bank should be currently enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program (sophomore, junior, or senior standing). You should demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preference will be given to applicants with coursework or experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics and those with exposure to financial analysis, credit review, or client relationship management through coursework or internships.
