Role of a Communications Senior Associate in Business Banking

As a Communications Senior Associate in Business Banking within Consumer and Community Banking, you will play a critical role in implementing communications strategies that accentuate JPMorganChase’s commitment to small businesses. This role involves media relations support, internal communications, event logistics, managing editorial calendars, creating social media content, and project management across different areas such as brand, PR, content, government relations, and external agencies.

Job Responsibilities

The Communications Senior Associate is responsible for executing communication plans for the firmwide small business initiative and Business Banking programs. This includes drafting and editing press materials, pitches, talking points, and thought leadership content that highlight customer impact and firm initiatives. You will also manage media relations for external events, coordinate internal communications, and provide logistical support for internal events to ensure clear messaging and strong employee engagement. Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating editorial calendars, creating and scheduling social media content, collaborating with partners across the firm, tracking and reporting on communications metrics, and managing the firmwide initiative to position JPMorganChase as the nation’s leading bank for small business.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

The ideal candidate should have more than four years of experience in communications, public relations, media relations, or a related field, preferably within financial services or a large, matrixed organization. Key skills include strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities, experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, excellent partner management skills, and a collaborative approach. A bachelor’s degree is mandatory. Familiarity with project planning tools and practices is preferred.
