Commercial Small Business Banking Underwriter at Zions
Zions Bancorporation is currently seeking an ideal candidate for their Commercial Small Business Banking Underwriter position. The role entails numerous responsibilities and requires a specific skill set, along with relevant experience.
The underwriter will be responsible for data compilation related to the preparation of credit packages. This includes the incorporation of spreads, cash flow analysis, the value of collateral, appraisals, audits, and other relevant data. The underwriter will also be tasked with interpreting the outcome of the analysis, preparing summaries, and making joint presentations with the Relationship Manager to Credit Approvers on both renewals and new loan submissions.
Furthermore, the underwriter will evaluate, analyze, and form opinions for approving or denying loan applications related to commercial, commercial real estate, and business banking. The analysis will involve spreading financial statements, identifying credit strengths and weaknesses, and providing a detailed and documented analysis of creditworthiness. This role will also ensure that credit requests are processed in line with bank policies, banking regulations, and laws.
Qualifications and Skills
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field. In addition, a minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial, commercial real estate credit, or small business underwriting, spread analysis, lending, and underwriting practices is required. The candidate should also possess a basic understanding of commercial, commercial RE, and small business credit underwriting, spread analysis, lending, and underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Moreover, the candidate must have a good understanding of commercial and small business lending policies, procedures, and general banking laws and regulations. The ability to analyze and research financial statements, business plans, credit reports, debt ratios, and loan-to-value information is crucial. The candidate should also have good judgment, the ability to make sound decisions, and be able to handle confidential information responsibly.
