Banking Analytics Liquidity Vice Presidents: What Do They Do?

As a Banking Analytics Liquidity Vice President supporting the Commercial & Investment Bank Treasury team, you play a critical role in managing the Liquidity Analytics side of the CIB’s banking book. This role includes a focus on Wholesale Deposit methodology development, developing approaches to liquidity stress testing and monitoring results.

Among other responsibilities, you will be providing treasury-related guidance and support to the CIB Global Payments and Securities Services businesses, and supporting new business product reviews and impacts to balance sheet. A major part of your role includes reading, understanding and supporting the interpretation of regulatory liquidity (LCR, NSFR) and capital policies.

Key Job Responsibilities

As a Banking Analytics Liquidity Vice President, your responsibilities would include:

  • Working with CIB businesses and Global Treasury to support the development of suitably robust approaches to liquidity stress testing
  • Building close partnerships with lines of business to understand client-driven liquidity and balance sheet dynamics
  • Supporting the development of quantitative analysis and tools to aid business analysis
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects and analyses as required by senior management or regulatory initiatives
  • Improving the liquidity reporting framework for the CIB and driving a culture of ongoing process improvements
  • Providing timely and accurate feedback and analysis for regulatory requests

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

Interested candidates are required to have a Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics or other quantitative fields, with over 6 years of experience in financial services, particularly related to deposits and liquidity. A knack for complex and quantitative analyses is essential, with strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills are crucial, including the ability to present information in a clear, concise, and effective manner to a myriad of audiences. Candidates must also be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

Preferred qualifications include a working knowledge of financial analysis, liquidity risk, balance sheet analysis, regulatory requirements (US/Basel and others) and accounting concepts. Basic Python programming experience or experience with digital accelerators like Alteryx and Tableau are a plus.
