Your Role as a Government Commercial Banker

As a Government Commercial Banker, you will be working within a dynamic team environment, collaborating with dedicated product specialists from various sectors. These sectors include Treasury and Security Services, Public Finance, Securities Trading, and Asset Management and Leasing. Together, you will deliver our comprehensive range of services and products to our clients and prospects.

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer-centric mindset
  • Keep abreast with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships
  • Find ways to further efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 + years direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships
  • An understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and resources
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Superb verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business and control partners

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

While these are not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills will give you an edge:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training
  • Sales management and business development skills, and proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong creative solution and problem-solving abilities, flexibility to changing business priorities and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, and a proactive, creative approach to work
