Exciting Career Opportunity: Client Portfolio Manager
Bankers’ Bank is currently seeking a Client Portfolio Manager to join their team at their Elk Grove Village, IL location. This role, reporting to the Executive Vice President/Chief Commercial Banking Officer in the Commercial Banking department, is a pivotal position within the organization. It is responsible for supporting the Commercial Banking area, working directly with the Commercial Lender(s), providing exceptional customer support, financial analysis, and assistance with business development.
Key Responsibilities in Portfolio Management
- Review and evaluation of loan participation requests to ensure alignment with Bank standards and regulatory compliance.
- Assessing the financial strength and operational capacity of correspondent banks and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all related documentation.
- Coordinating with operations and analysts for periodic portfolio reviews, tracking changes in credit quality and helping maintain a high-performing loan portfolio.
- Identifying documentation gaps, reporting issues to the Commercial Lender, and ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Communicating with clients to gather additional documentation, provide loan updates, answer inquiries, and serve as a liaison between clients and internal departments.
- Coordinating the Commercial Banking pipeline for regular portfolio review with operations and analyst teams to identify changes in credit quality, ensuring overall portfolio quality that meets or exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities in Relationship Management
- Assisting Commercial Lenders with marketing and sales process, including setting up and making joint calls.
- Communicating with commercial customers to obtain additional information and follow-up on requests.
- Answering customer’s calls, researching answers to questions and acting as a general liaison between customers and the Bank.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, banking or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate should also have 4+ years of relevant experience in banking, financial analysis, business development, and relationship management, with at least 2 years of banking experience required.
