The Market Leader will play an instrumental role in leading a diverse team tasked with delivering financial success to both businesses and individuals. The emphasis is on creating an educational experience for clients, empowering them to make informed financial decisions. The role of the Market Leader is pivotal to the success of the branch banking division. The responsibilities include:
Coaching & Talent Development
The Market Leader will be responsible for the acquisition, engagement, and retention of suitable staff. The role involves coaching, motivating, and supporting the team to align with strategic initiatives. The leader will also be instrumental in identifying individual development opportunities and career pathing.
Community Engagement
The Market Leader will need to engage with the community, observing Branch Leaders from the client’s perspective to deliver an empowering educational experience. This includes identifying and supporting Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) opportunities within the district communities.
Market & Performance Management
The Market Leader will need to introduce efficiencies to help branches reach their goals. The role involves operational efficiency and accuracy in relation to policies, procedures, and compliance. The leader will establish business contacts and networks through community events and activities.
Risk Management
The Market Leader will be responsible for the clear communication of strategic initiatives. They should be fully aware of any audit issues and be able to respond to audit inquiries when necessary. The role requires reinforcing the bank’s mission, vision, and values by serving as a culture agent.
Job Requirements
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, less formal education with more on-the-job experience may be substituted. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of branch banking experience, with at least 6 of those years in a leadership role.
Other requirements include proven coaching and leadership skills, a demonstrated ability to deliver results, proven client service skills, and a record of developing high-performance sales and service teams. The ability to multi-task, inspire others, and work with employees at all levels is crucial. Travel is required for 65% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for the position is between $99,731.70 and $164,557.30. Flagstar Bank also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including access to medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program.
