Role Summary and Responsibilities
A Branch Banking Leader at Flagstar Bank is not just a managerial position, but a strategic role that focuses on teaching, training, and modeling sales behaviors. This leader’s main goal is to meet and exceed performance targets, ensuring operational excellence across the branch.
The responsibilities of this position are four-fold:
Business Performance
As a Branch Banking Leader, you’ll drive the growth of primary client relationships and exceed the branch’s financial performance targets. This includes deposits, loans, and non-interest income. You will also actively seek and deliver the right client introductions to the right team members, executing successful sales initiatives and making sound financial decisions independently.
Sales Leadership and Coaching
A key aspect of this role is fostering a culture of business development and supporting the execution of partner-produced sales and branch initiatives. You’ll provide training, development, and coaching to branch teams, focusing on how to effectively achieve targets. This role is also responsible for various talent management functions, including employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance requirements.
Client Experience
Flagstar Bank is committed to delivering an exceptional client experience. As a Branch Banking Leader, you will foster a culture that prioritizes client engagement and education. You will utilize available tools and systems to resolve any issues related to branch operations and client satisfaction.
Risk Management
Risk management is a critical component of this role. The Branch Banking Leader will ensure a culture of disciplined risk management, helping teams identify and mitigate reputational, regulatory, employee, and client risks. You will also ensure strict adherence to all applicable bank policies and regulations, meeting operational excellence standards.
Additionally, the Branch Banking Leader will perform special projects and other duties as required, and consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Branch Banking Leader role is required to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least five years of overall branch sales experience. Two or more years in a leadership role is also required, as well as registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation. An undergraduate degree is preferred.
