Responsibilities of the Branch Banking Assistant Leader
The successful candidate for the Branch Banking Assistant Leader position will have several key responsibilities:
Business Performance
Firstly, the Assistant Leader will be responsible for driving market growth of the bank’s primary client relationships. This involves achieving growth targets in financial performance such as deposits, loans, and non-interest income. The candidate will also actively seek and provide the appropriate client introductions to the right team members to achieve growth targets and carry out successful sales initiatives.
Sales Leadership and Coaching
Another primary responsibility of this role is sales leadership and coaching. The Assistant Leader will support in the coaching, development and mentorship of the team members. This includes helping to execute partner-produced sales and marketing initiatives. Moreover, the Assistant Leader will aid in reinforcing training, development, and coaching to branch teams on how to effectively engage in the broader communities and customers to deliver against performance targets.
Client Experience
The Assistant Leader will also be expected to deliver exceptional client engagement and education. They will use the tools and systems available to foster a culture focused on providing an outstanding client experience with a commitment to delivering on the bank’s mission and purpose.
Risk Management
A crucial part of the role involves risk management. The Assistant Leader will identify and mitigate reputational, regulatory, employee and client risks. This will be achieved by helping team members understand and adhere to all applicable bank policies and regulations to meet operational excellence standards.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Besides the main responsibilities, the Assistant Leader will be required to perform special projects, additional duties and responsibilities as required. They must consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as well as complete required compliance trainings. Moreover, they are accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Requirements for the Position
Applicants for the Branch Banking Assistant Leader position must meet certain requirements. A High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent is required. Being bilingual, particularly in Spanish, is preferred. Additionally, applicants must have at least 3 years of overall branch sales experience. Some roles may require National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation. An undergraduate degree and experience in a leadership role are both preferred, but not required.
