Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Leader in Branch Banking has several key responsibilities. These include:
- Business Performance: The professional will work towards driving market growth of primary client relationships and achieving growth targets in financial performance, including deposits loans and non-interest income. They will actively seek and deliver the right client introductions to the right team members to achieve growth targets and execute successful sales initiatives.
- Sales Leadership and Coaching: The assistant leader will also support in the coaching, development, and mentorship of the team members. They will reinforce training, development, and coaching to branch teams on the mission and how to effectively engage in broader communities and customers to deliver against performance targets.
- Client Experience: The professional will be responsible for delivering excellent client engagement and education using the available tools and systems. They will foster a culture focused on providing an exceptional client experience with a commitment to delivering on the bank’s mission and purpose.
- Risk Management: The Assistant Leader will help team members understand and adhere to all applicable bank policies and regulations to identify and mitigate reputational, regulatory, employee, and client risks. They should meet operational excellence standards.
Additionally, the Assistant Leader will be required to perform special projects and additional duties as required. It is also essential for the candidate to consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job and to complete required compliance trainings.
Required Qualifications
Candidates interested in the role of Assistant Leader in Branch Banking at Flagstar Bank must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational level: High School diploma or foreign equivalent.
- Minimum experience: 2+ years of branch sales experience.
- Possibility of requiring National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation.
- Experience with a variety of banking products.
- Experience with banking risk management.
Preferred Qualifications

- Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
