The Banking Services Officer at Mechanics Bank plays a pivotal role in managing the smooth functioning of a Retail Branch. This position is responsible for the supervision of compliance, operations, and day-to-day activities. They work under remote supervision from the Area Operations Manager and provide exemplary leadership to branch operations and full-time equivalent (FTE) management, with dotted line reporting to the Branch Manager.
The Officer is a subject matter expert in Bank policies and procedures and provides assistance on complex transactions. Their role also extends to overseeing and supporting the teller line, cash handling, dual control functions, and is responsible for branch operations, staffing schedules, FTE budget management, and employee training and development.
As a leader in the branch, the Banking Services Officer ensures operations staff supports branch sales production activities through ethical referrals and provides top-notch customer service, promptly addressing any customer service escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the compliance and operations functions of a Retail branch, identifying and analyzing operating issues, solving operational problems, and providing input for improvement in processes and procedures
- Providing leadership, coaching, feedback, and developmental support to a team of employees
