Key Responsibilities in the Role
As a Banking Services Lead, you will be required to perform a wide range of tasks. You will be working under general supervision and will be expected to independently and accurately carry out teller, new account, and maintenance transactions, following the established procedures. You will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service, supporting the sales team in achieving performance goals, and meeting the financial needs of customers through ethical referrals.
Customer Transactions and Service
Among your many responsibilities will be performing routine teller transactions and working directly with customers. You will accept, verify, and process basic to more complex customer transactions following established procedures and security guidelines. This includes deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and transactions received through the mail or the night drop. You will also be responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash supply for transactions performed.
Branch Operations
In addition to customer transactions, you will also be assisting the Retail Operations Manager in ensuring operational soundness in the branch. You will monitor overall branch cash levels and assist with the completion and review of operational tasks. You may also lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and Universal Bankers in the office.
Customer Service and Fraud Prevention
As a Banking Services Lead, you will also play a significant role in providing extraordinary service to customers and resolving their concerns. You will assist customers with account maintenance, online banking, mobile banking, and other complex account issues. Moreover, you will review customer transactions for red flags and fraudulent items, maintaining awareness of current financial scams used against banking customers, and preventing customers from becoming victims of fraud.
Regulatory Compliance
You will also be tasked with maintaining compliance with established internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations to protect the interest of the Bank and customers. This involves gathering data and processing various regulatory and operational reports to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures, and reviewing the work of others for compliance.
Who is the Ideal Candidate?
The ideal candidate for the Banking Services Lead position at Mechanics Bank is someone with a High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A notary license is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of banking operations experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service, the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member, and excellent time management skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail are also essential. Knowledge of Bank deposit products and services, alternative Bank services and products and vendor provided products, and applicable Federal and State banking regulations is required.
Benefits and Compensation
Mechanics Bank offers a competitive compensation package, ranging from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, with eligibility for commission/incentive plans. They also provide a comprehensive employee benefits program designed for you to live your best life at work, home, and everywhere in between. Employees working 25 hours or more per week are eligible for health benefits effective the first day of the month following or coinciding with their date of hire.
