The Role of Banking Relationship Specialists
Banking Relationship Specialists at ConnectOne Bank play a pivotal role in maintaining the bank’s client-first approach. They are responsible for acquiring, retaining, and expanding banking relationships with both business and consumer clients, adhering to the ConnectOne Culture at all times. The primary duties of a Banking Relationship Specialist include supporting the bank’s “People First” focus, identifying opportunities for relationship development, opening accounts for deposit products, ensuring compliance with the bank’s operational procedures, handling customer service issues, and assisting other branch team members.
Expectations of the Role
Banking Relationship Specialists must possess strong needs-based sales skills. They are expected to have one to three years of bank platform sales and teller experience, and a detailed understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements. They must also demonstrate a strong interest in and ability to deliver on the bank’s “People First” ethos. They must have strong problem-solving skills, effective teambuilding, and interpersonal communication abilities. ConnectOne Bank also expects its Banking Relationship Specialists to be able to lift items up to 25 lbs, master the bank’s culture, and work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
